This is a black locket with beautiful patina and detailed ornate pattern to both sides of the inside underneath the original metal frames and glass. It has a jet flower like pattern mounted to the top.

Much mourning jewelery originated after the death of Prince Albert, husband of Queen Victoria in 1861. Queen Victoria wore mourning clothes until 1901 when she died. An example of great dedication to someone she truly valued.
