A large high quality lapis lazuli drop pendant with natural shape combined with a more geometrically shaped prehnite. Two powerful stones in juxtaposition creating a dramatic combination. Lapis is formed by many minerals including calcite, lazurite and sodalite. It has been mined in the high country of Afghanistan for thousands of years and originally used in Egypt as jewellery. and ground for decorating the body....painting the eye of Horus being one example. it usually contains pyrite as well. Chilean lapis contains more visible calcite and minimal pyrite.

Lapis Lazuli is said to assist with honest communication with someone you love, also helping to take responsibility for one's own decisions and not blaming others when things go wrong. It helps to overcome depression and promotes objectivity when under pressure at all levels. Good for illnesses associated with the throat and head.

Prehnite was discovered in the 1700's in South Africa by the Dutchman Hendrik von Prehn after whom it was named. It is highly useful in meditation to stop thoughts from wandering and said to calm children who are hyperactive.
